Donation Requests

Our donation policy.

We get asked for donations often — sponsorships, raffles, youth programs, school events, and more. We wish we could say yes to everyone, but we can't. We focus what we do give on the communities and causes closest to what we actually sell and who we actually serve: horse owners and pet owners across Central Oklahoma. Here's how we handle it.

We can't say yes to most requests.

Cook Feed & Outdoor is a family-owned business with four locations, and like most small businesses, our ability to give back is limited. We receive far more requests than we're able to fund, and we have to be selective to make sure what we do give actually makes a difference for people and animals we genuinely serve.

What we look for.

We tend to say yes most often to young people involved with horses — 4-H horse projects, youth equestrians, ranch kids working with horses, and similar programs tied directly to the animals we feed and supply. If that's you, and you're asking for your own program, project, or event, we want to hear from you directly. We just ask that you schedule a short time to talk rather than calling in or stopping by unannounced.

We're far less likely to respond to mass email requests, requests submitted on behalf of someone else, requests from organizations outside Central Oklahoma, or requests from programs unrelated to the animals and customers we actually serve.

What we generally don't support.

  • Requests submitted by parents or organizations on a young person's behalf
  • Mass or form-letter donation requests sent to many businesses at once
  • Requests from outside the Central Oklahoma area we serve
  • General school, sports, or club fundraisers not tied to horses
  • Unscheduled phone calls or walk-ins asking to speak with ownership about a donation
